Who am I?

My name is Jill Decker. I am a NYS Licensed Family Daycare provider and mother of three.My children are ages 9, 21 months and 4 months.

Education and Experience

Before becoming a Daycare provider after the birth of my second child, I was a working mom. I am a 2-year graduate of Mohawk Valley Community College with an Associates Degree in Human Services. After graduation I began working with children and teens with mental health diagnosis', and continued working there for 3 years before changing paths. I then began working with pregnant and parenting families, teaching parenting and interacting skills to parents or parents-to-be. At that time I also taught parenting classes for The Family Nurturing Center. With the birth of my second child, as I mentioned above, I decided to stay home and become a certified daycare provider...and here I am!

Trainings

Because I am a NYS Certified Daycare provider I am required to complete 30 hours of childcare related trainings in a variety of different topics every two years. Some of the trainings I have completed in the last few years include but are not limited to subjects on: creative play, food and nutrition, child abuse and neglect, health and safety, Shaken Baby Syndrome, SIDS, CPR/First Aid, brain develpoment, ages and stages of develpoment,......
